We have recently been successful in installing a Remmers refurbishment system to the floors of washrooms and toilet facilities at the Caterpillar factory in Manchester.
The old floors were made up using Remmers Optiplan pumped screed, followed by the Remmers epoxy flake system, with a top coating of Remmers UV 100 highly resistant epoxy finish.
This cost effective Remmers system provides a hard wearing, hygienic, easily cleaned and seamless surface, which is also chemically resistant and watertight. It has a light and colour fast decorative finish that will retain its appearance for many years.
Epoxy UV 100 is an unpigmented epoxy resin binder that is used as a primer, for sealing and as a bin-der for flake and blinded covers or decorative pebble covers.
The substrate must be load-bearing, dimensionally stable, sound and free of loose parts, dust, oils, grease, rubber dust or other substances with a separating effect. The tensile strength of the surface of the substrate must be 1.5 N/mm² on average and com-pressive strength at least 25 N/mm².
Substrates must have achieved the compensation moisture state.
In the case of anhydrite and mag-nesite screed, it is absolutely es-sential that no moisture can pene-trate from building elements or the ground.
