Concrete Repair

Our concrete repair expertise was required by BT. A concrete escape staircase at their Stourbridge Telephone Exchange, required remedial work.

The structure was manifesting extensive spalling of the concrete as a result of steel corrosion and the walkways and treads were dangerously slippery in the wet.

A corrosion inhibiter was applied to reduce the level of concrete breakout, which also avoided the need to remove all the balustrade and anchor bolts.

The concrete elements were then repaired and protected with a fully electrometric anti-carbonation coating which provides a slip resistant surface for the walkways and should protect the material for the next 20 years.

In this instance our expertise has provided a cost effective solution, which not only improves safety but also gives a high level of low maintenance protection for the foreseeable future.
